About Us

Our lab focuses on developing scalable neuroscience-informed psychotherapies for depression. We leverage novel computational and imaging techniques to identify mechanisms of action and develop psychotherapies to target these mechanisms. We strive to improve and personalize psychotherapies for individuals' unique needs and circumstances. Our current psychotherapy trials focus on mid- and late-life depression and suicidality and postpartum depression.

Our studies are funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, Brain & Behavior Foundation, American Psychological Foundation, Cornell Center for Pandemic Prevention and Response, and Society for Psychotherapy Research.

Advances in neuroscience can inform simplified interventions that target key brain networks impacted by depression. Engage & Connect is an example for a scalable and simple neuroscience-informed psychotherapy, aimed to improve Positive Valence System functions and social reward responsivity by increasing engagement in rewarding social activities.
